He slipped his hands down his pockets and kept on walking on the hard sidewalk around the houses. The swings were swinging back and forth from the wind blowing and dying then repeating the cycle. He stared at the house, it was deserted and he wondered what or who lived in there. He inhaled deeply and kept on walking. He knew the ARD had deactivated him but he wondered for how long would he be deactivated for. It was only a matter of time that they would put him on the spot once again and he knew his time might be running out. It was quite in this neighborhood and he wondered if the whole spot was abandoned. He decided to walk over to the swing set and sit down. He sat there thinking for a short while wondering what was going to happen. He hadn't been with a woman, he knew that time was long gone. He didn't want to kill anyone anymore, sometimes he had a thrill for it, but others he didn't thats when he had started to disobey and they had gave him suspension until they decided to activate him once again.
Women haven't been on his mind for a long time, he hasn't even thought about being with someone and he knows he wasn't willing to try because he would get hurt in the end. He remembered all the times he had actually slept with someone, but he didn't feel love and he wondered if they had made a mistake on him. He felt like a failed experiment, nothing compared to an actual human. He didnt like that emotion. He was just a creation, he felt like he wasn't as real as the actual thing. So why should he experience real emotions? He hasn't even experienced anything real, all the memories they placed inside his mind were a fraud. He doesn't know love or any kind of feeling of that. Although he wished he knew, he grew to learn in time that it will not be possible. He sighed and looked into the sky, the moon was just beautiful and he wondered how nature had came to present itself.
Life was a grand mystery and he wondered if he would ever find a way to solve it. He tried to place things together and he wondered how exactly he was created. He wondered if he had a mother that they had gotten the genes from or if they actually grew him out of somewhere. For all he knew, he could have came from a plant. He inhaled deeply and he looked away from the moon finding comfort in himself. He looked down at his shoes and realized he was created for a horrible purpose, one that he wants to escape from. He closed his eyes and just empty his mind for a moment. Nothing went through his mind, not any messages or thoughts for that matter. But one thing did come from his mouth, and the words were:
"I am but a monster, created to do devious and unbelievable things..."

Coffee in hand , she wasn’t ready to head back to her dorm and hit the books just yet. No instead she decided to prolong that torture and to just wander a bit. She found herself on a quiet little street, god this city was so different from home. And she always felt like she looked and sounded out of place. The joys of being from a small town even in this day and age. You still stood out like a sore thumb, and with the way Syrena dressed she certainly didn’t make it any easier for herself. But this was a new place, a fresh start. None of that messy past left to haunt her here. Just hiding…from the A.R.D. that was the biggest worry she had now. And it wasn’t a very pretty one, but if she didn’t make too many friends, she stuck to her classes and didn’t tell anybody what she was then she was relatively safe. That and if she stayed out water and didn’t sing around human ears. Syrena laughed to herself out loud a little, as she dug through her large shoulder bag.
She sighed as she found the lip gloss, smudged a little on her lips and then continued her little ‘adventure’. Eventually she came upon a park, with someone dark and mysterious sitting on the swings. She shrugged her shoulders and walked over. He looked lost in thought, and focused on somewhere far away from here. She smirked a little and pulled the earbuds out of her ears. As she took a sip of coffee she slumped down into one of the swings “Don’t mind if I join you?” she was quiet, and she wasn’t really expecting him to answer anytime soon. He looked sad, lonely even. Syrena knew that feeling, and she knew she’d hated it, she knew that sometimes she still felt that way. Right now certainly wasn’t one of them, and the moment she opened her mouth people no longer thought she was shy or lonely or sad and lost. Syrena could be loud and obnoxcious, when she was out and with friends.
Maybe that would be her goal for this new city, this fresh start, this new life. Maybe she would go out and make friends, what was the harm in it if she didn’t tell anyone her secret. Syrena sat there sipping her coffee as she absent mindedly swung back and forth. She hadn’t really waited for his answer, pretty much she’d just invited herself to his pity party. “You know, you should cheer up, people are going to start thinking someone died…..that is of course unless someone died….?” She quirked and eyebrow, now generally interested in this tall dark and handsome strangers life problems. Who knows maybe he was involved in some murder plot? She had been watching entirely too many crime shows on TV again. It was becoming sad the lack of friends, it either left her studying or watching lame TV shows. Syrena really needed to get out more. She stopped winging and looked back at him. “Sorry I don’t mean to intrude or well I guess be rude, sometimes…ok well most of the time there just isn’t a filter from my brain to my mouth. “ She bit her lip, “Bad habbit I know…”

He was deep in thought, lost in his own little world until a woman's voice snapped him out of it. He stared at her for a moment, with the information in his head. It was deadly and he hated it. He inhaled deeply and closed his eyes. From all the information that was now swimming in his head, he could feel that she was one of them. The A.R.D had placed information in his had and he could tell when there was one of them and when there wasn't one of them. He just had to look and sometimes he would know. Right now, he could feel that she was one and he had to tell her because he was activated by some means. Although he was suspended for god knows how long, he didn't know the time and the place where they would put him back on the market. He didn't like hurting the gifted people, he felt like they hadn't done anything wrong, but he knew deep down that some of them weren't rainbows and flowers. Some of the gifted were monsters, like hunters. He wasn't a bad person, but he had misunderstood everything.
Living a short life with fake memories really had tick him off. Although he wasn't human, he had some human traits. He was probably more human than most because of his suspension, he has learned how to be more human and not a lot of people could see him as a hunter, as a copy of someone or something else. He grew into his own person and his own will. And it was with that will that helped him break free for now from the A.R.D. He had no idea if they would ever activate him or if they wouldn't. He hoped they would just forget about him and call him usable. He sat on the swing listening to the woman and he turned his head in her direction, his brown eyes falling on her. She was beautiful, like every woman is. But there was something about her that he couldn't put his finger on and he wasn't sure he was willing to find out any time soon.
"Someone did die...on my accord... expectantly...isn't your family worried about you? I'm sure they wouldn't leave a lady like yourself without an escort."
He spoke properly, like if he was from a different time. It was odd but its how he was programmed. There was some things he couldn't get rid of and that was one of them because he was programmed with it. The only thing that was disabled was to bring in any gifted. He wondered, was he actually being used to just gather information? He didn't know, but he didn't want to find out only to hurt someone again. He didn't think this was a good idea and with that he stood up from the swing and struck his hands in his pockets. He didn't want to cause any trouble. He looked around, it was deserted or it appeared to be. He then turned to face her, his eyes on her glamours face.
"It isn't safe here."

When he said someone had died, and on his account she quirked her eyebrow. And then when he called her a lady she laughed. Was her family worried about her? No, how could they be, maybe from beyond the grave. Syrena entertained the idea in her head for a while, playing with it and then she looked at him and smirked her red lips
“They aren’t worried, they’re buried on a different continent.”
She liked the idea of someone calling her a lady, most people just called her a punk in her black skin tight jeans with rips in them and her studded belt. It was kind of weird he talked like he was from a different era, although really who was she to judge, if she stepped off dry land she looked like she was out of a fairy tale or some story about pirates. Syrena couldn’t
help herself he’d made her interested with his first comment. “Someone died…on your account? What did you do hit someone with your car?”
she didn’t seem overly concerned though maybe she should have been. Seeing as he was a stranger and he just admitted half heartedly to killing someone.
She knew it was a little brash to just start digging into another persons personal life, but she was bored and he seemed lonely, almost like he needed a friend.
“What do you mean it isn’t safe here? I don’t see anyone else around….do you?”
she had watched him stand with his hands in his pockets, there was something about him that she couldn’t quite put her finger on him. He seemed different, the way he spoke, the way he stood, as if he wasn’t entirely comfortable in his own skin. What on earth was this guys deal? Syrena shook her head and stood up.
“Hey, I didn’t mean to just like you know interrupt you, seriously if you wanted me to leave you should have just said so, just a friendly stranger trying to help….”
She was impatcient at times, one of her downfalls, but Syrena did genuinely care. Even if she didn’t know him, he looked like he just needed someone to talk too. And she wasn’t about to give up yet.
“you know, I’m running low on coffee, if you wanted company….or someone to talk to you could come with.”
She talked to strangers all the time, it was the only way to make friends, and she didn’t have any of those growing up and she was trying now. God she was presistant, it had to be annoying. But if he wanted to just be on his merry little way he could just say no and leave it at that…. Syrena stood there watching him. He was cute, gorgeous even, maybe a little mysterious, who knows maybe he was dangerous. She’d heard about people meeting serial killers like this, was that what this was? She didn’t really figure the situation was like that but she was looking on the bright side of it after all.

He knew if he had told her, she would have run maybe even sprint away depending on how fit she was. He was designed to run pretty fast, he was a predator and predators were pretty strong. He refused to be one, so did that make him weak? Not necessarily, he just had a choice not wanting to be one. He stared at the houses, he remembered once, his friend that he had made, his first friend. He was a great person, the guy had actually liked cars himself. He was created to be a mechanic, one of the first hunters to be outside of the college, but the repair place he worked at was right by the college. The A.R.D helped him with the job and he was hired on. They figured to take a sort of different approach with things and boy did they earn a lot more gifted. He didn't like the idea. He remembered the guy, taught him everything he knew and once he figured out he was a gifted, he was activated to bring him in. Only he fought and Darien was forced to kill him for his own life. If it was up to Darien, he would have just let him killed him. What kind of person wanted to be controlled? But then again, was he a person, or just a creation?
When he heard about her family, a small frown appeared on his face, but just as quickly as it came, it left. He inhaled deeply and looked at out at the houses. A lot of them were vacant, and he knew that a lot of people were suffering without money this part of the town. He also watched teenagers seek in for some time along and people breaking into the houses to take things. He's seen the works and he has learned a lot from humans. Thats why he's probably more human like than the others, he's had time to learn from humans as others continuously keep killing them and they are mostly cold hearted beings. They were the worse part of humanity that you dare not want to see. They were cold ruthless mean and showed no remorse. He personally spent time with humans that they had grown attached to him and that was another reason why he was let go for now that is.
"I killed him with explosives before he could kill me"
He answered her question, but he answered her in a way that you didn't think it would have been abilities. It sounded more like some sort of bomb or dynamite. But his powers were explosive, it was called combustion, the ability to heat up molecules and make them explode. He done that to a human once, it was very gruesome and he hated all the guts. It was nothing compared to the movies, real life was actually kind of gross. When he heard her speak again he turned to her and looked at her. He wondered if she had known what was going on with the A.R.D and he wondered if she had known if he was a hunter or not. There was one way of finding out but he wasn't going to say anything. He figured maybe she would eventually figure out if she just placed her mind to it. He didn't doubt humans like other hunters did, sure it was easy to lure them in but he knew they weren't as stupid, they created him so somewhere their lied intelligence.
"Sure, i'll join you as long as your not scared of someone thats incredibly dangerous."
He might as well seize the moment and just talk to her for a while. He knew that eventually she would figure it out and he would have to walk away, it wasn't it big deal. He knew there was always someone more to talk to and he would figure it out who would have been next to talk to. He wasn't human, but he understood what was right and what was wrong. He might not show as much emotion like one or really speak like one, but it didn't bother him. He liked the way he was, even if he wasn't human entirely.

She hadn’t been expecting the exploding remark, she was interested, but she didn’t really push it any further. To be honest she figured he was being sarcastic. Joking around, but it didn’t seem like he wanted to talk whatever it was that was on his mind. Some people were so hard to figure out, but then again they weren’t friends, and she’d just met him so really she knew nothing about him at all. So why did she care, and why was she pressing the matter? Syrena just left it at that and moved on. She could tell he wanted her to be scared of him. But oddly enough she still wasn’t. If only she knew he was a hunter for the A.R.D, would she still be talking to him then? Maybe. Would she be attempting to befriend him, because she was kind of lonely and looking for a friend herself? Maybe, maybe not. But that wasn’t the case. No, instead Syrena was a little blind sited. She didn’t know how to tell a hunter from a gifted, from a human. Back home she hadn’t been faced with hunters in the same way and yet she choose to come here to get away from her past. A place full of dangers and people wanting to capture her kind. Eh, she liked to live a little, after all it had taken her so long to get here in her life.
When he took her offer she acted surprised, jokingly of course, in a mocking kind of way. Then Syrena smirked and tiled her head towards the sidewalk. She kind of scoffing laughed and then began to walk there. Syrena wasn’t stupid she knew their was something kind off about him, but honestly there was something kind of off about her too so she didn’t really make anything of it. Maybe she would regret it later, eventually. But for now, not so much.
“Why do you keep saying that?”
she looked at him he needed to lighten up, to live a little, and to relax he was wound so tight. She could sense that and she’d known him for all of fifteen minutes. “whats so dark and dangerous about you?” she waved her hands around in a joking kind of way. See she could be a fun person, sometimes. People could like her for being her right? It wasn’t all about abilities. She was doing this all on her own no abilities involved.
“You need to lighten up, you know that?”
Syrena walked slowly, not really looking at him. Fidgeting with the strap on her bag at first. Then she looked at him. He still looked sad and lost and maybe even a little stern. Now she really did want to know what his deal was. She hummed absent mindedly as she walked before she looked at him.
“Maybe it would help if I introduced myself, if we started over?”
She laughed walked away from him a little stopped turned around and came back.
“Hi there, my names Syrena, I’m a stranger…you’re a stranger who looks sad. Can I buy you a coffee and cheer you up?”
She laughed a little and quirked her eyebrow as she stood there awaiting his reply. She had been humming as she was walking she realized that now, that probably wasn’t a good thing but humming was different then singing right? She’d never really thought about it before. Maybe it was nothing maybe it hadn’t effected him, she didn’t think humming effected people, she hummed all the time. No, she knew it didn’t why was she suddenly all worried, but it was probably showing on her face, she shook her head and looked at him again as if nothing happened.
“sorry, what was that I didn’t quite catch that.”

He pressed his lips together and he stared at her. His eyes flickered at her with anger. He couldn't believe she wasn't getting any of it. But he figured he better put it out there before she did something that would trigger his activation. He didn't want to kill anyone or harm anyone for that matter. He sighed deeply and just placed his hand on his forehead and merely shook his head gently. He just simply wanted to know where was the minds of human beings now and days. He understood they were smart and some of them were much slower, but they all shared a brain, couldn't they just use it? He used his and he wasn't even human! He was just parts and pieces here and there. Not even he could understand where he had came from. He stared at her for a long moment and merely just kept pressing his lips. He knew eventually he would have to spill the beans. Why not now? Just pull the bandied off nice and fast that way the pain could just be brief but then again her never had the feeling of pain mentally that is.
"You are clueless...arent you, gifted?"
He stared at her waiting to see her reaction about the name he had just called her. He was programmed to find them, he knew how to find them and luckily he had the programming in his mind. He stared at her merely just a blank stare. He thought maybe she would run off and tell the whole world that he was one, but was there really a reason to run? He wasn't going to hurt her especially since he was deactivated for right now. He merely looked away from her and shoved his hands down his pockets. The real memories that he had were swimming in his mind, of what happened. Not a lot has happened, only maybe 2 or 3 years of life that he has gone through. His mind had a lot of information and ran faster probably than a normal human. So he wondered at times if he was the better creation than humans thought they had made. But then again, they had control over them.
"Well my name is Darien and its nice to meet you too"
he said and he looked over his shoulder. He then started to make his way towards the coffee hut or whatever it was called. He knew that if she wanted to follow him, she would. If not then he understood why. He sighed deeply and just placed his hands in his jacket. He just noticed it was really dark outside and most of the street lights weren't working. He pressed his lips together. Where were the Power and Light people when you needed them to fix the lights? He merely shook his head from side to side and continued on his way. It looked like a deserted street, something he didn't like to see and he wondered if a lot of people did lose there home here. He never really had a home or a family to see, it slightly depressed him. It would have been nice to have an actual family to come home to or work for and bring in money. He wanted happiness just like he had seen with many families.
